Continue ShoppingHey Gamers!
I want to lead this article off by giving a huge thank you to those that made it out to our Gamer’s Haven Auction. We had great attendance, and lots of lots made their way into happy new homes. We had everything from a massive Warhammer ork lot, to popular board games getting scooped up, which led to a really interesting fact that I want to cover. The total retail value of submitted lots sold was near $10k, and the total purchased was: $4,165.00. As you can see, the real winners here were the auction participants. That's a significant % less spent than what the retail value was, which is expected as it was a mix of loose sprues to brand new board games still in plastic. Of course there was a bit of awkwardness, a few growing pains for our first attempt, but the whole goal of the auction was to get our customers their treasures at killer prices. The second perk to this is customers who submitted lots, moved collections and games that would likely be unused or sat on a shelf, and turned that into credit to get the games they really want to play or are interested in. You’ll see below that many sellers on average earned a higher value than the asking reserve. Here's a bit of a breakdown of the numbers we saw on the Auction day:
Participants: 20
#of lots: 33
Lowest sold lot: $25.00
Highest sold lot: $280
Total sold value: $4,165
Average over lot reserve earned: 38.1%
I’d call this an all around success. We’re super excited to do this again, so keep an eye out for the announcement of our second Gamer’s Haven Auction. In the meantime, get those dusty minis and unbuilt sprues off your shelf, those unplayed games out of the closet, and collect your hobby supplies and get them on our hobby auction lot application. If you did attend and have some feedback or new ideas, let us know in the comments. See you soon!
