The purpose of this document is to help Players prepare for the Spring Open by informing them of what will be required of them, what they can expect of the event, and what alterations to the core rules are used if any. This document is a living document and is subject to revisions and changes as appropriate or needed. Changes will be highlighted in Red text and underlined, as well as being listed under the change log at the end of this packet.

Alpha Strike: Commander’s Edition
Odyssey 350 Event packet.
All relevant FAQ/Errata
Players will be expected to have on hand an updated copy of all three documents while playing their games.
Format:
The Spring Open uses the Odyssey 350 rules packet as the basis for the format. The rules can be found here; https://www.odysseuslegion.com/formats/od350
NOTE: The Illiad rules are for Classic games only, and are not used in the Alpha Strike Spring Open.
Exceptions:
The Spring Open makes two changes to the Odyssey 350 format; Which mapsheets are used, and that Maps are preselected, with 12 unique board setups complete with 3D terrain.
Why was this change made?
Three reasons;
One, for simplicity. This change streamlines game setup for both players and organizers.
Two, for presentation. We believe that 3D terrain is more immersive and creates a much more visually interesting play space.
Lastly, 3D terrain is easier to play on and read, as the details printed on the mapsheets can be difficult to read quickly for some players. We want you straining your heat gauge, not your eyes.
What mapsheets are used at the Alpha Strike Spring Open?
The following Mapsheets are used in the Spring Open.
Foothills 1, Foothills 2, Rolling Hills 3, Rolling Hills 4, Sand Drift 1
Sand Drift 2, Badlands 2, Washout 2.
Code of Conduct:
Tournament Organizers will resolve any disputes as listed in the OD350 packet, with the general progression of Verbal Warning, Yellow Card, Red Card.
Yellow Cards issued to a player will remove a player from any prizing consideration.
Red Cards, in addition to the above, may either strike a game for the player receiving the Red Card, or disqualify the player from the event.
Force Roster Submission:
All latest FAQs before the cutoff are in effect.
As per the OD350 Rules, all Forces must be built and submitted using the Master Unit List website’s Alpha Strike Roster builder.
Forces must list what factions were used to construct them (IE, IS general & Lyran Commonwealth.)
Players that do not submit their Forces or make required corrections before cutoff may receive Yellow Card infractions, as well as a reduction in Sportsmanship scoring.
Scoring & Pairings:
The Spring Open will use BCP for reporting scoring and generating pairings.
Pairing & Placing Metrics will be, in order of importance;
Wins, Tournament Points, Points Destroyed.
Scoring is separated into 3 categories for a total possible score of 560 Points.
